Preparations have been completed to build three new state-of-the-art hospitals and 18 health centers in Addis Ababa city, accord to city’s health bureau.
The health centers will be built taking into account condominium sites, Girma Ashenafi, head of the health bureau told FBC today.
The bureau planned to commence the construction of the three hospitals last year but due to problems encountered in designing and selection of construction site, it was delayed, he said.
The three hospitals will be built in Lafto, Bole and Kolfe Keranyo sub-cities and 90 million birr has been allocated for each to commence construction, Girma added.
Similarly, over 5 million birr has been allocated for each of the 18 health stations to be built taking into account condominium sites.
The construction of the health facilities is scheduled to commence early next Ethiopian fiscal year. They will be completed in three years time, Girma indicated.
